Seeds of the mustard plant, which is a member of the cabbage family.  Dark (or brown) seeds are more pungent than yellow.  Used in pickling or Indian cuisine.  Seeds can be fried in oil until they pop and added to various vegetable dishes and curries.  90% are grown in Canada but now also grown in U.S.
